(The media molds public opinion. マスコミは世論に大きな影響を与える, 世論を形成する.)

3. against the mold/break out of the mold の「mold」は「型にはまる」というニュアンスで「against the
　　mold」や「break out of the mold」はそのパターンに反抗して、そのパターンから抜け出る

(Example: Break out of the ordinary mold いつもの[パターン・性格]から抜け出る.
